IT Service Transformation Programme

A leading UK newspaper group, much like the whole print industry, were under serious commercial pressure from the 'digital revolution'. With their IT systems upgraded to meet the technological challenges of the 21st Century, the client needed to deliver the operational savings that would meet their business challenges. The solution was to outsource their IT services, but planning how to do this was the next challenge.

Ashraf Ibrahim headed up the PMO function and provided Business Analysis for the largest outsource programme in the client’s history:

  • Assisted in the development and delivery of an industry leading SIAM/ITIL Service Target Operating Model (TOM) in only 6 weeks, enabling the client to plan and decide on an outsource deal.

  • Analysed customer satisfaction survey results to calculate a baseline Net Promoter Score (NPS) and help form a Service Improvement Plan.

  • Built Service Management Process and Commercial Dashboards to enable effective reporting in support of an ongoing Commercial Review process.

  • The client completed the final transition of all of their services two full months earlier than had originally been planned. In total an additional 33% of savings were delivered over the first year's calculated savings.


End User Computing Rollout

Helped manage the testing and deployment phases of an End User Computing Pilot to deploy upgraded IT devices and applications to selected Business Units within a leading UK newspaper group.

Key Achievements:

  • Managed the roll-out of iPhones and Office 365 across the business, deployed over two locations in London and Manchester, including defining the business process around technical deployment to increase control and reduce the number of user issues.

  • Designed and managed application UAT covering business requirements, co-existence and regression tests between Office 2003, Office 2007, Office 2010 and Office 2013 365.

  • Creation of a deployment approach plan and process overview to define the wider roll-out of Smart Phones, Tablets, Office 365 and the Google GAPS 2-Factor Authentication tool.

  • Creation of communications and guidance documentation that outlined the strategy and approach for deployment to be used by any Project Manager to execute the detailed deployment plan.


Operating and Business Model Review

An innovative Tech company wanted to identify efficiencies and cost savings so we helped conduct analysis of their Operating and Business Model.

Key Achievements:

  • Created an innovative performance and cost model to underpin the two-week review of their operating and business model.

  • The analysis highlighted ways to improve efficiency and reduce costs by more than 16% enabling the business to grow without additional costs.
